I'm aware that there's at least a few of you here from NY, so I thought I'd share this with you all.
This weekend, Friday the 7th thru Sunday the 9th, the Eastern New York Coalition of Automotive Retailers (ENYCAR) is presenting the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
They've been doing this for years, with two events annually, the first one held in the spring at the Times Union Center, and in the fall on the Concourse level of the Empire State Plaza.
As always, admission is free, but parking in the plaza parking garage is $5 p/car this year, which is a bit more than previous years, though still cheaper than the usual cost of admission to the TU Center one (this year's was $7.50 p/person, if I recall properly).
Kinda worth it, though, since the Concourse event is a single floor one, whereas the TU center uses the upper concessions floor and the arena floor itself, with steep stairs to get down there.
Plus, there's a McDonald's, so if you still have any Monopoly free food pieces lying around, you can use them.
Almost all of the brands sold in the area will be there, with the exception of Lexus and Lincoln. Still, that means over 160 vehicles, plus automotive related vendors.
Although it costs a little bit of money, it's still better than walking around dealer lots this time of year. Plus, you're not hassled by salesmen.
Oh, and you can't forget the floor plan for the event:
It's a lot of fun, and there tends to be a good showing of enthusiasts at the event.
Perhaps a chance for an Oppo meetup? Who knows.
All I know is that I'm probably going Saturday afternoon, and I'll have my camera on hand to check out the latest cars, though it might be a while before I can post them here, since my computer still isn't working that well

dude
just go out and buy a $1k car with a manual. You don't even have to register it or anything. Just go around the block and learn how to drive it.

I've been debating going to it, I've seen the billboards around, but its only open one weekend and I have a lot of stuff I have to take care of because I'm heading out of town for a while. I usually hit the NYC and Philadelphia ones earlier in the year though, so I do get some of the auto show fix taken care of.
